Chuck Lennon to retire

Chuck Lennon, who has been synonymous with Notre Dame’s Alumni Association for three decades, will retire in June 2011, shortly after attending his 50th reunion. As executive director, Lennon ’61, ’62M.A. transformed reunion weekend, oversaw the expansion of geographic clubs from 151 to 276 (including 62 international), and earned a reputation for innovative programming that included continuing education, community service, career development, alumni networking and the creation of alumni subgroups to meet the needs of minorities, women, and young and international alumni.

In announcing the retirement, University President Father John I. Jenkins, CSC, said Lennon “embodies the spirit of Notre Dame,” and cited his “leadership, loving service and infectious enthusiasm.”
