An illustrated study of stone mosaics created by the Italian artists of the late Middle Ages known as the Cosmati. The New York Times Book Review called it the “handsomest and most intellectually stimulating” of architecture studies. Contains 600 color and black-and-white illustrations. The author is a Notre Dame associate professor of architecture.
