In this guide to spiritual growth, the author uses stories, most from his own life, to introduce traditional modes of Catholic prayer. He also includes a discussion of praying the rosary, especially the new Luminous Mysteries, the significance of our actions at Mass, the model of Jesuit prayer, and the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.

Steele is professor and chair of the department of theology/religious studies at the University of Scranton.
