For Malcom Johnson ’98, the pandemic provided a sense of clarity. Life was good, even in quarantine. Married to his college sweetheart and a father of three, the former Notre Dame and NFL wide receiver was 15 years into his post-football career as a Wall Street banker — and living on the West Coast, so even the weather was nice. But the harsh light COVID-19 cast on socioeconomic inequalities and health disparities provided the impetus Johnson needed to leave J.P. Morgan and start Langdon Park Capital, a real estate management firm with a mission to invest in underserved communities.
