Nearly two weeks after Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring, we regret to inform you that Notre Dame is still very firmly in the throes of winter.

Though temperatures were higher this week than during our polar vortex days, the week nonetheless began in classic "South Bend in February" style. Freezing rain fell throughout the region on Sunday and Monday, February 10-11, coating our campus in a delicate layer of ice.

The University remained open during this storm, allowing University photographer Barbara Johnston to traverse the campus capturing photogenic frozen scenes like this one.

Photo of the Week highlights images of notable happenings on campus and in the Notre Dame family around the world. Have a snapshot you think we should see? Email scahalan@nd.edu to be considered for publication.
