06MBA Seen and Heard During Football Season

Despite the lack of formal contributions, I did happen to run into a number of people during football season. Isabelle Cote, Nick Pateros, and Mike Socha were all in town for the Michigan game and survived some wicked tailgating weather to see a thrilling win. I would later see Mike in Norman OK for the big win over the Sooners, where he was so excited by the victory that he started throwing car flags out of moving vehicles. Rumor has it that Jamin Hemenway and Bryce Bucknell were in attendance as well, but poor cell phone reception prevented a linkage. Hopefully, by the time you read these notes Jamin will have a summary of his Oklahoma experience up on www.pigskinpursuit.com, his amazing college football and food blog. David King and Jason Frei were on campus for the BYU game and also stopped by the Sama tailgate. Dave is working at Healthways in Arizona and Jason is still with Boeing in St. Louis. Also, I saw Andrea (Miller) Hayse at the Shamrock Series game in Chicago. Andrea and her husband, Mark, are still in Wisconsin and working for Harley-Davidson. — Andrew Sama; 276 Mendoza College of Business, Notre Dame IN 46556; cell 574-339-6115; bus 574-631-5206; nd.mba.classof2006@gmail.com

I did get some exciting news from Lora ’02 and Geoff Smitham. On June 23, they welcomed Quinn, their second child. Geoff did want me to mention that neither of their children (Quinn and Reese) were purposely named after Notre Dame quarterbacks, but I’ll let you decide whether you want to believe that.
