10MBA Another Great Quarter
Our classmates Logan Snyder and Greg Cochara recently co-founded and launched Therio Inc., a company focused on modernizing the digital backbone of the animal agriculture industry, starting in dairy. Therio unifies fragmented data, streamlines operations and strengthens trust between farms, suppliers and industry associations, bringing improved economics and efficiencies, and enabling one of America’s most essential industries to benefit from cutting-edge technology and AI. Logan and wife Emily are raising their two sons on an old farm in Lyme NH. And Greg and wife Katie also have two children and live in Naperville IL near the vast IL prairie. Mike Boyle has built a career in affordable housing finance and recently helped launch Greystone Real Estate Capital, where he closed the firm’s inaugural fund this year. He is actively involved in industry leadership, serving on the boards of the National Housing & Rehabilitation Association, the Louisiana Association of Affordable Housing Providers, and Cabretta Capital Corporation, as well as on the CDE Advisory Board of FNB Oxford Bank and the Legislative Committee of the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition. Ted Kwartler has been charged with growing the entire NA AI practice at Accenture, working on new offerings for clients, hiring external AI talent, upskilling and training existing employees with the ultimate goal of revenue growth. 11 Congrats and See You at Reunion 2026
Julie Bujnowski O’Brochta ’12Arch and husband Andrew welcomed their second baby, Lucia Emilia O’Brochta, in March. Julie is loving her job as the architect at Chicago Public Library. Kate and Nick DeTrempe welcomed their third child, Tess Taylor DeTrempe, on April 22, 2025. She was baptized at the Log Chapel in September. Lauren Henderson and John Harig welcomed Fern Isabella on April 25, 2025. Big sister Maeve is just as excited as her parents and loves her “best friend” Fern very much. Anjelica Nguyen wed Patrick Lynn on Oct. 11, 2025, in her hometown of Cincinnati. They were surrounded by their loved ones, which included many Domers: Rachael (Poinsatte) Huser ’10, Patrick Montalvo ’10, Deanna Munoz, Chelsea (Dietrick) Pietrucha, Kristen (Tappel) Froncek, Wesley Cheng, Bryant Purse, Hal Dietrick ’74 and Cuong “Gunner” Nguyen ’92. Emily (Lambert) and Rohit Ummer welcomed their third girl, Maeve Mariana, in October. Big sisters Sasha and Sophie are over the moon! Odaro Omusi is psyched to share that he married his best friend, Annie Mack, on Nov. 1 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. In attendance were fellow Class of 2011 Vermin of Carroll Hall Mike Sobolweski, Nick Ruof, Hugh McDermott, Kris Kast, Rich Dougherty and Chris Lee; Project Fresh alum Adebola Giwa ’09; and former Club Fever regulars Jonathan Park ’10 and Jessica Choi ’12. Odaro and Annie are grateful to all their friends-turned-family who were at their destination wedding in-person and in spirit. Also in November, Meghan and Rory Kelly welcomed their fourth baby boy, Callahan Flynn Kelly, to the family. They are busy with four under 4 and think they might need to buy land. Meghan is the sister of proud aunt Kelly (Flynn) Kramb. Maureen Williams has been promoted to assistant professor of medical microbiology at McDaniel College. Maureen is a zoologist whose research specializes on tropical diseases and parasite communities in fish and reefs. She also teaches courses on ecology, molecular ecology and biostatistics. Congrats to Maureen on this exciting promotion! Jennifer (Weller) Potter is still living in South Bend with husband Luke Potter and four kids: Jack, Rosemarie, Henry and Eleanor. Luke works at Hope Ministries and Jen is currently homeschooling and working as an RN in oncology at Memorial Hospital. Philip Hall and his wife are proud parents to two high-energy, joy-filled kids who keep life loud, funny and meaningful. By day (and plenty of nights), Philip is a pulmonary and critical care doctor with the privilege of caring for the most vulnerable of patients who enter the hospital. Last, but not least, our very own class secretary, Caitlin (Burke), and husband Padraic Canavan are thrilled to share the early arrival of their daughter, Margaret Clare, on Jan. 2. Kelly Kraus and Kevin McNeill rang in 2026 with their wedding at Cleveland Yacht Club. The evening ended in a blizzard, making it feel like we were dancing the night away in a snow globe as we toasted the new year! Congrats to the newlyweds! Conor Wolohan has completed the Chicago Marathon with a speedy enough time to qualify him to run in the 2026 Boston Marathon. Best of luck! Run, Conor, run! All right MBA Class of 2012, there’s a new Class Notes author in town. No longer will this space be left unattended! I … Phil Voulgaris … once voted fourth funniest person in the business school … affectionately referred to as the Don Juan of FOG … will not allow our Class Notes column to wither away. Unfortunately, I’m under a bit of a deadline, so I was unable to solicit updates this round. But I did stalk everyone on LinkedIn to see where your professional lives have taken you, because that’s what it’s all about after graduating from B-school! I was surprised to see many of us are now in the food and beverage industry. Dan Marques is slinging spicy deluxe sandwiches at Chick-fil-A; Dan Diamond is grilling burgers for the Five Guys in ole London town; Becky Hunt is whipping up Frappuccinos for Starbucks; Julia Durgee is canning organic baby food for Beech-Nut; Hammad Qadar is RBC’s head of risk appetite … that sounds food-related! Plus he makes an amazing chicken biryani; if you find yourself in Charlotte NC please invite yourself over for dinner. As for me, I’m still recovering from Notre Dame’s playoff snub, but we’ll get ’em next year. It’s unfortunate that I have lost touch with a lot of you; in many ways me volunteering for this gig is an attempt to get reconnected. But, I still speak to Carole every day! She’s working on writing the next great urban planning book that will power her way to tenure. 12JD A Quiet Winter
Greetings, classmates. Once again it sounds like most of us had a pretty quiet quarter, so I don’t have much to print. In fact, I only have two updates: one from myself, and one from my most consistent contributor, Alvin Adjei. My wife, Sarah, and I welcomed our second kiddo, a son named James, who joined us and extremely excited big sister Charlotte just before Christmas. Mom and baby are both doing great, and big sister is aggressively affectionate with what she seems to think is her very own hyper-realistic baby doll. Fun fact, you might be thinking that I named James after myself, but I didn’t — he is named after my great-grandfather, who just so happens to have the exact same name as me (and my father, and his father). Ours is clearly a line of great creative minds. Alvin reached out after James was born to ask if we were interested in selling or leasing the naming rights, but we had to regretfully decline. Alvin was understanding, and promised to check in after a while in case we’d like to reconsider. Between you and me, I don’t see a universe in which Sarah agrees to change his name to “Alvin’s Fine Woodcarving Dot Angelfire Dot Com” as has been proposed. Hello, thanks again for turning to the Class Notes section of Notre Dame Magazine. Another low-volume email issue. I’ll start with what Mick Hammock sent me. He just had his third kid, all under 3 (masochist), with Rex Benedict Hammock. Mick was kind enough to give me some practical advice: Nothing stays in a cabinet for long, and “keep your head on a swivel if you’re a scrambled egg.” He also let me know that Eric Secviar married Marie Cuccia in November 2025 with a handful of Knott graduates in attendance. I also heard from Anne Robles that her two daughters, Loretta Monroe and Francesca Mae, were both baptized in the Log Chapel on campus. Feeling that things were going “too smoothly with four kids,” she’s decided to plan a trip to the Philippines. I can hardly take my 1-year-old to the grocery store without feeling like maybe I bit off more than I can chew, so I really admire Anne’s courage. That’s all I got, folks. I always like hearing about “mini-class reunions.” Rob Rice said that he, Mike O’Brien, Charlie Florce and Lucas Taylor met up in Budapest. The city was enjoyable and the company more so. Rob checked in to say that he and his wife, Mai, live near Winchester, England, with their three boys, including Aki, the oldest, who just turned 16. Which means some of you met him as a toddler and are stunned to learn how old he is now. The next notes are due April 18. 14 Sitting, Waiting, Wishing
Hopefully, by the time you pick up this magazine, admire its cover artwork and flip to these back pages, you are enjoying the beautiful things that spring has to offer. The weather is a little warmer, the sun is a little brighter, the birds are a little louder. At the time I’m writing this, however, I am deep in January, it was 8 degrees this morning, my little space heater is running as hard as it can, and it sort of feels like warm may never come back. There’s always some part of winter that is about waiting: waiting on Christmas Eve for Santa to come, waiting for the snow to stop so you can shovel your driveway, waiting for the sun to set a little later every day, waiting to step out onto the sidewalk until you’ve tested it to see if it’s slippery. A podcast that I keep meaning to listen to calls this process “honoring winter’s pace,” but if you’ve ever met me ever, you know that honoring winter’s pace — slowing down, walking slowly and carefully, and making peace with waiting — is not something I have ever been good at. I’m always in a hurry: to get to where I’m going, to finish a task, to meet a deadline, to hear back from someone. Not too long ago, I was in such a hurry to walk through a door that I walked through it an inch too far to the left and broke a toe. How’s that for honoring winter’s pace? Maybe you’re the same way. But maybe we will get better at slowing down: for now, I’ll do my best to wait and see. And now for the reason you all turned to this page: your classmates’ updates! First of all, Margaret (Pickard) and Daniel Gomez celebrated the arrival of their son, Isaac, in August. He joins older sister Arden, whom he finds endlessly amusing. Isaac, you will soon learn that older sisters never cease being amusing — and so much more. Congratulations, Daniel and Margaret, on your beautiful growing family! The next update comes from Patrick Jung, who, along with wife Katie (Lenkiewicz) Jung, welcomed their third child, Brady Michael, on Sept. 15, 2025. They are now a family of five, with older siblings Maeve (5) and Connor (3) ready to show Brady the ropes. Katie is also celebrating the debut of her novel, You’re the One That I Haunt, which is set to be published this fall by Penguin Random House. The novel is My Best Friend’s Wedding meets The Dead Romantics and features yearning, a ghost romance and a generational curse — I don’t know about you, but I’m immediately adding that to my Goodreads list and giving Katie an instant follow (@katiejungwrites). Finally, I have an update to share from Anna (Fish) Palcic, who would like to celebrate husband Jacob Palcic, who became a partner at Barnes & Thornburg in South Bend this year. Anna and Jacob are also looking forward to a landmark year, as they are expecting Baby No. 5 this spring! Baby will be a tiebreaker, as Anna and Jacob’s beautiful family includes two boys and two girls already. Anna, we’ll be staying tuned to see the results! Congratulations to you both! Emily Diaz Campbell ’16SMC and Victor Diaz Rodriguez welcomed their third child in November. Maribeth Rauh is now a researcher in the AI Accountability Lab at Trinity College Dublin. Ashley (Currey) Lenz is now director of kids’ content at Hallow. Samantha Piekos is now assistant professor of informatics at the U of Pennsylvania. Hello JD 2015! I am excited to introduce myself as the new Class Notes author. It’s a pleasure to reconnect with this community and to share the stories, milestones and moments — big and small — that make our alumni network so special. Here are a few exciting updates for our class: The Columbus Crew is stocked with talent! Katie Beaudin was promoted to vice president and general counsel, and Mary Shepro was promoted to president of business operations in late 2025. Congrats, ladies! Lander B. Baiamonte accepted a new position as a litigation attorney with Cokinos, a full-service law firm in TX dedicated to construction deals and disputes. She was also inducted into the Texas Bar Fellowship — the largest charitably funded bar foundation in the nation with membership comprised of only 1% of licensed TX attorneys. 2025 was an exciting year for Ryan Durkin. Ryan was promoted to deputy general counsel with the MI Department of Insurance and Financial Services while he and his wife, Amanda, also welcomed the birth of daughter Theresa. Speaking of exciting personal news, Sean Parish got married in Florence, Italy, in June 2025. Audra and John Blodgett welcomed their second daughter, Maeve Jean, in June 2025. Neal Van Vynckt considered sharing an update but was ultimately too devastated by the Carolina Panthers’ loss in the Wild Card Round. It’s been so exciting to see how many classmates are planning to return to campus for our 10-year reunion! It’s shaping up to be an incredible weekend. Big brother Ben is adjusting well and keeping everyone entertained. Mike recently launched Boyle Product Development, supporting customers with a variety of mechanical design projects. Emily now works in her family’s business, focusing on natural gas equipment sales. I’m so proud of Danielle Butler, Elizabeth Charles-Mundaden, Thomas Deranek, Alexa Lodenquai and Molly Seidel for running in the NYC Marathon. Lily Crawford climbed Mount Kilimanjaro — all 19,341 feet! — in January 2026 with a group of MBA alumni from LBS. Nicole Fantozzi works as senior manager of corporate and international finance for the Cleveland Clinic. Jack Fazzino recently joined Shipman and Goodwin as an associate attorney. He also serves as the state rep for CT-83 and is currently a candidate for state Senate for CT-13. Steven Fisher is creative strategy manager for Laudato Si’ Movement. Kenzel Huggins graduated with a Ph.D. in anthropology from UChicago last summer and is there still for a two-year postdoc. Alexis Meruelo gathered over 250 women for the Business of Her Conference, creating space for attendees to learn, grow, network and build community. Look out for her book, Getting You Ready for Power, coming this spring. Ryan Phan graduated from UColorado Med Center a few years ago and is now an anesthesiology resident at Harbor-UCLA Med Center. Sarah Price works at EY as a technology risk senior manager. Mariana Stanson serves on the ND Women Connect Board as the Southern regional director. Qilin Tam lives in London and works as head of refining for FGE NexantECA. Becky Wornhoff works as a family medicine physician for Esperanza Health Center in Chicago. Val Woulfe completed the Ironman FL last fall — a 2.4-mile swim in the Gulf of Mexico, a 112-mile bike ride from PCB to the forest and back, and a 26.2-mile run along the Emerald Coast. You go girl! Cloris Xu works as a senior investment manager at HIG Capital. Madeline Zupan works on Siri and AI program planning as EPM manager for Apple. Thanks to Rev. 17 Celebrations
The Class of 2017 continues to prove that there’s no slowing down. Between career milestones, personal feats, weddings and a growing next generation of Fighting Irish, there is plenty to celebrate this quarter. Our classmates are making waves professionally across industries. Grace Perkins is now a director at Biogen, while Liz O’Connor stepped into a senior program manager role at Moog Aircraft. Brandon Ruggles was named COO of OIA Global, and Rachel Jonckheere completed her MBA at London Business School before joining the Bank of England’s sustainability team. Academic achievements are also in order, with Liz DeLucia earning her Ph.D. in psychology from Virginia Tech and Anna Schluckebier completing her medical residency at Detroit Receiving Hospital. Maddie McCormick joined Strava in corporate finance, Mason Zurovchak is now an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, and Elise Monaghan leads smart factory engineering programs at Mars. Tiffany Nguyen was promoted to senior director at Eli Lilly, Angela Celo is a senior engineer at Amgen and Jessica Merdes joined Google in technical accounting. Kiley Wilcox is a product manager at SimpliSafe, Jon Rydburg is a director at Uber, Kimmy Sullivan is a manager at Stryker and Bridget Pruzin is now a director at Convera. Sean Campbell was promoted to vice president at Orchard Investment Partners, and Sara Ciavarella is a senior associate at Grubhub. On the personal front, a special shout-out goes to Jane Coughlin and Patrick Hawley, who took on the NYC Marathon — an impressive accomplishment. There are plenty of engagements to celebrate as well. Sara (Dugan) and Nick Jones ’17, are excited to announce that they welcomed a baby boy into their family! Bennett Patrick Jones was born Dec. 4. They had a lovely holiday season spending lots of quality time with their new son and their families in Chicago. Paul Stevenson and Paige Hamilton (not an ND grad, but Paul is working to convert her) celebrated the sacrament of marriage in Richmond VA on Nov. 15 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church. Dillon Hall priest-in-residence Rev. Austin Collins, CSC, ’77 presided over the ceremony mere hours after his return from Rome and audience with Pope Leo XIV. Katie Eilert married Ryan Kloke ’17 on June 28 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Kansas City. In attendance were many members of the Classes of 2017 and 2018, especially from Keenan and Cav. Nic Weishar is excited to announce the birth of his baby boy William Weishar. Just a few months old, he has been absolutely locked in to every Irish game! Megan McAdoo and Steven Jessen-Howard welcomed their daughter, Alice Jessen McAdoo, on Oct. 11. Abby Rosso (Smith) welcomed baby girl Lucy Rosso on Dec. 15 with husband Ben Rosso ’17. Stephanie (Reuter) ’18, ’20MTS and Simon Brake ’18, ’26JD are excited to announce the birth of their first baby, Isaac John, who was born Oct. 25. Robin (Seay) Kruger and her husband, Adam, welcomed their first daughter, Cameron, in October. Keenan Centlivre is engaged and will be marrying Benna Ames on April 18. Nadezhda Palma (née Braun) married Gabriel Palma on Jan. 2 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston MO. Natalie Hrabrick ’18, ’19MSM and her fiancé, Dan Nolan ’19MSM, will be getting married this year on Aug. 1 and will be celebrating their love with friends and family in MA. Tierney Grace Vrdolyak was married in the Church to Gregory Phillip DeLee on Feb. 7 at St. Matthew Cathedral in South Bend. They value your prayers and hope for heaven! Kaleigh Frigon married Becca Venable in Lake Geneva WI surrounded by many alumni including the WeekNders of Walsh Hall. Lastly, it is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of our classmate Rebecca Huber, who passed away Oct. 28. Born and raised in MD, she was a mechanical engineering major and completed a minor in studio art. She studied abroad in Beijing prior to her junior year. A light to all who met her, she loved volunteering with her “little kiddos” at the Early Childhood Development Center while an undergraduate student. She is survived by her parents, Scott and Judy Huber, and her sisters, Rachel Huber and Sarah Nachtegall. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mason Anderson, also a member of the Class of 2018, who passed away six weeks prior on Sept. 19. 19 Cold Weather, Warm Hearts
Our Notre Dame family keeps growing — and we love all the love! Samantha Walker and Matthew Taggart ’19MSA got married in October 2025. Brookelyn Bacchus tied the knot with Markus Terpak on Jan. 2 in MN. Isabel Teixeira Fuchs and her husband, Jacob, welcomed their first child, Maren Denise, on Jan. 24 in Nashville TN. Kieran Murphy and his wife, Madison, welcomed a baby boy into their family. Our class is making advances professionally as well. Dr. Kara Shannon is a psychiatry resident at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Jaihee Choi is in her second year as an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at Marquette U. MacKenzie V. Thurman joined Robinson Bradshaw’s Charlotte NC office. She is a corporate attorney whose practice focuses on a range of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, spinoffs, private equity investments, securities filings and general corporate law. She represents publicly traded companies, privately held companies and private equity funds and their portfolio companies in acquisitions, dispositions and other business transactions. Prior to joining Robinson Bradshaw, Thurman was an attorney at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York City. She earned her law degree from Columbia Law School. Congratulations to our classmate Zada Ballew, who was a panelist on the ThinkND virtual event Caregiving with Dignity. Zada serves as the chair of the Native American Alumni of Notre Dame. Zada is a Ph.D. candidate at the U of Wisconsin-Madison studying Native American history, and her dissertation explores the business history of her tribal nation, Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, from treaties in the 19th century to casinos today. During the 2023 - 2024 academic year, Zada also served as the historical consultant and cultural liaison for the Native American Initiatives of Notre Dame. In this role, she partnered with Hesburgh Libraries and scholars on campus and in the community to research the Native American history of ND from the founding to the present. A 5K event honoring the memory of Simon J. Mariani is being held April 25 in Surf City NJ but can also be done virtually. We encourage you to visit runsignup.com/simonheartofachampion5k.
