47 One Final Update

I heard from Mary Chris Knorr on Feb. 13 concerning the recent passing of her father-in-law, John Andrew Knorr, in Tulsa OK on Jan. 30 at the age of 101. John received his Bachelor of Naval Science at ND on June 22, 1945, and his BS in electrical engineering on June 1, 1947. John passed down his love for ND to his son and fellow graduate, John Edward Knorr ’71. With the passage of time, I’ve received fewer updates from the Class of 1947 and, in collaboration with the Alumni Association, we have decided to close this column. It is a sad moment for me, as I’ve edited or compiled the notes for the Class of 1947 since 2010. We plan to officially retire this column after the fall issue of Notre Dame Magazine, so I kindly ask for one final update by July 18.
