With graduation over and the summer session not yet begun, Notre Dame can be a little short on people at this time of year. The animal residents of our campus, however, are out in full force.

University photographer Matt Cashore '94 captured this remarkable shot of two Howard Hall mascots — er, ducks — between rain showers on Wednesday, May 30.

Between the brownie-eating squirrel last week and campus mallards perfecting their Fr. Hesburgh and Fr. Joyce impressions this week, are Notre Dame's furry and feathered critters plotting a takeover? Stay tuned to find out.

Photo of the Week is a new weekly series at magazine.nd.edu highlighting photos of notable happenings on campus and in the Notre Dame family around the world. Have a snapshot you think we should see? Email scahalan@nd.edu to be considered for publication.
