Notre Dame may not have any athletes in the Olympics this year, but that doesn't mean there's no Irish representation.

Sam Stryker '13, a senior editor at Buzzfeed, is stationed in PyeongChang this month to report on the Winter Games. His Olympic duties are varied, from coordinating Snapchat campaigns to writing articles and interviewing athletes like freestyle skier Gus Kenworthy, pictured with Stryker above.

Of his time at the Games, Stryker says, "It's been a crazy, whirlwind experience. When you wake up, you literally have no idea how your day will go" — a flexibility that can lead to days like Monday, which found Stryker holding a bronze medal and interviewing internet-famous figure skater Adam Rippon, all before lunch. "It's been a thrill to represent the Notre Dame family from across the globe. Go Irish and Go Team USA!"

Photo of the Week is a new weekly series at magazine.nd.edu highlighting photos of notable happenings on campus and in the Notre Dame family around the world. Have a snapshot you think we should see? Email scahalan@nd.edu to be considered for publication.
