Bryon Roesselet of Conrad Schmitt Studios scrapes layers of paint away to reveal sections of original frescoes and other decor on the walls of Washington Hall in preparation for a renovation project. A series of stories chronicling the process, which will recreate some of the elaborate painted-over 1894 flourishes and color scheme by artists Luigi Gregori and Louis Rusca, begins Monday at magazine.nd.edu.
