When you’re dressed in designer Thom Browne’s “uniforms,” it’s not whether you win or lose, but how you play to the cameras. A fall fashion shoot on campus featured students playing football on the quad in stylish looks that Browne ’88 brought to life. Our winter issue — to be mailed next week and published online January 5 — includes a peek behind the scenes at that fashionable football game. More somber matters of life and death fill our pages as well, such as the unfolding horrors in Ukraine and Haiti. Despite the devastation, and the despair it can provoke even from afar, the stories are tied together with a thread of hope — and glimmers from life’s little grace notes, like a football game in fancy clothes, just for fun.
