You’ve heard of Where’s Waldo?, but this week we’re adding a new query to the lexicon: “Where’s Ed?”

University photographer Matt Cashore ’94 snapped this photo on a recent walk through North Quad, where the statue of St. Edward that stands outside his namesake dormitory has disappeared from its pedestal. Cashore suspects that the saint has been spirited away for maintenance, but it is summer break — we like to imagine he’s on vacation.

So where do you think the Confessor has gone for his summer sojourn? His home kingdom of England? A saintly colleague’s territory, like San Francisco or Sint Maarten? Give us your best “Where’s Ed” guess on social media or by email, and your answer may be featured in this space next week.

Photo of the Week highlights images of notable happenings on campus and in the Notre Dame family around the world. Have a snapshot you think we should see? Email scahalan@nd.edu to be considered for publication.
