36 Chilly Days

 

My grandson tells me that Walsh Hall is being renovated this year. I lived in Walsh Hall my senior year. I hope they are replacing the windows. During the winter months the cold air would blow through the cracks in the windows. I poured water into the cracks and when it froze, the room finally warmed up. One of the guys had the job of setting the pins in the Walsh Hall basement bowling alley. I understand the bowling alley was taken out years ago. I hope I can take a tour when the renovation is complete. I have no news to report from my classmates. I hear from Joe Newman and Shelby Romere from time to time. 39 It’s Been Quiet

 

If my math is correct, most members of the class are nearing or have already reached their 100^th birthdays. I’d love to report on celebrations of this milestone. This August will mark 100 years since David Meskill’s birth and our family will gather at his beloved summer cottage in York ME for a family reunion. This will mark the first time in about 20 years that all five of his children, including Tim Meskill ’69 and Katie Meskill ’67SMC, eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren (along with spouses and significant others) will be together at the same time with family matriarch Adelaide Meskill.
