20MBA Springing into New Beginnings
Spring has sprung, bringing with it news of new beginnings for some of our classmates. Stacia and Michael Giese welcomed their daughter, Carter Kathryn Giese, this past October. Carter arrived in time to catch some fall football — both college and her hometown team, the Kansas City Chiefs. Stacia, Michael and their dog, Delta, are smitten with the latest addition to their family! Also with a new beginning to share is John Chao. John has left his role at C3.ai and is dipping his toe into the Venture Studio waters, with a specific focus on defense technology and generative AI. — Audrey Walker; awalke10@alumni.nd.edu

20JD Better Together
The only thing better than having one of our amazing classmates on your workforce is having two of our amazing classmates. This past summer, Conor Woods joined classmate Ned Rooney at the Office of the General Counsel for the Social Security Administration. Both are based in Chicago. Congrats to both of them on the amazing work they are doing. Multiplying on the fun, four of our classmates met up last fall in Nashville for their annual “Girls Trip”: Irvenie Latortue (public defender in Orlando FL), Emily Ardalan (associate at Thompson Hine in Cleveland OH), Claire Bessette (Cook County assistant state’s attorney in Chicago) and Lauren Binger (associate at Lloyd Gosselink in Austin TX). From Notre Dame Avenue to Broadway Street, our Class knows how to celebrate. Praying for and thinking of you all, always. In Notre Dame, go Irish! — Elizabeth (Lombard) Eckert ’15, ’19MBA, ’20JD; 51699 Ashton Ct., Granger, IN 46530; 708-334-0213; elombard@nd.edu

21 New Accomplishments
Greetings, Irish Nation! I trust you all braved the winter weather admirably, and for those of you living in parts of the world where winter isn’t really a thing … grow up. I have a slew of exciting updates from our classmates, so let’s get cracking. Julia Goldschmidt graduated from the Notre Dame McGrath Institute for Church Life’s Echo program this past summer with her Master of Arts in theology. She now serves as the director of parish services at St. Patrick Parish in Malvern PA. Aiden Crowley joined the Ph.D. program in health care management and economics at the Wharton School of Business! She will complete her Ph.D. before returning to finish her MD at the U of Pennsylvania. Meilin Scanish graduated from a master’s program at Sciences Po Paris in human rights and humanitarian action and started a new position as an analyst for the Office of Children’s Issues at the US Department of State. MaryKate Drennan started a new job this past fall as an associate systems engineer for the Traction Electrification team at Sound Transit in Seattle. Shannon Wolfe started a new job working with the USA Women’s Soccer National Team in Chicago. Elise Wellman will be moving to Ireland for six months to help with pharmaceutical manufacturing at Eli Lilly & Co. Matthew Steeves got engaged on Thanksgiving. Andrew Lifka was engaged to Megan Ronzone on Dec. 30 under the Christmas lights of the Morton Arboretum in Lisle IL. Siena Gruler and William Schipke ’19 were married on Oct. 10 in Scottsdale AZ and subsequently honeymooned in Maui HI. Elsa Barron and James Luk got engaged as well. Madison Gabouer and Sean Doyle were married in July, and are now expecting a baby in April! The couple is also moving to the DC area this coming summer and looks to connect with other graduates in the area. Finally, Teresa Azemar would like it reported that she is, in fact, sooo eepy. Congrats, all, on some amazing life accomplishments and milestones! As always, for those of you reading along, don’t be shy! When we send out our quarterly emails asking for updates, let us know what you’ve been up to. Or, if you’re too eager to wait for that, you can DM us 24/7 on Instagram @class21nd. We look forward to hearing from you, and Go Irish! — Ryan Mullin; rmullin77@gmail.com
