20 Marriages and Reunion Time

Bridget O’Reilly and Connor Grace were married May 10 in Yardley PA. Bridget Drakeley and Noah Peterson became engaged in December and are looking forward to their wedding in August 2025. Steven Lanasky married Maddie Counsell on July 14 in Fredericksburg VA. Delia Ryan married Cole Nestler on Sept. 21 in Mattapoisett MA. Begin making plans for Reunion 2025, May 29 - June 1. 20MBA Shipping Up to Boston

Jacob Mazurek and his family (including their cat, Mochi) are in the process of moving back to the US after a year abroad in Bulgaria. They will be settling in the Boston area where Jacob will be working for the US Army. Jacob recently finished writing a book on naval mine warfare history, which is currently undergoing a mandatory pre-publication review by the Department of Defense. Never one to sit idle, he’s already working on his next book, this one on economic theories and informed by motivational theory, his time at Notre Dame and his observations from the various places he has lived and worked. 20JD Fall Fanfare

I hope you all had a wonderful summer. By the time you are reading this, a glorious college football season will be upon us. We have a ’20JD Class baby to celebrate! Classmates Hannah (McCausland) and Chris Gerace welcomed beautiful baby girl Daniela Jane in October 2023. Only two more decades until Daniela will be studying in Kresge and making her mark on the law school — just like her awesome parents did. Happy upcoming first birthday, Daniela! Chris Johnson recently announced his new position as an associate attorney at CrossCastle PLLC in Minneapolis. Deion Kathawa also announced he joined the litigation practice team at Varnum LLP. Adding to the career move excitement — earlier this year Katie Peachman joined the real estate finance group of King & Spalding LLP in New York. Praying for and thinking of you all, always. 21 New Accomplishments 

Hello once again, Irish Nation! I am writing this in mid-July under the presumption that when this goes to publication we will be somewhere around the 6-0 mark. If that is not the case, don’t let me know. Please. I couldn’t bear it. Anyhoo, I hope you’ve all been stomping on leaves and carving pumpkins lately. Without further ado, the much-anticipated and highly sought-after life updates! Natalia Adriance and Benjamin Huls, who have been dating since sophomore year, are getting married in the spring of 2025. Jill Ruane graduated from Air Force pilot training last year, and is moving to Germany in the fall to fly the C-130J. Evie Kenney and Mike Everett got married in the Basilica on July 26. Kathryn Purk and Blake Dries got married June 28 in the Basilica as well. Christian Oakley is a rising M3 at Vanderbilt Medical School. Madison (Gabouer) and Sean Doyle welcomed their first son, Killian Joseph Doyle, on May 6! Madeline Schierl graduated from the U of Arizona with a master’s in art and visual culture education with an emphasis in community and museums. This summer, she and Matt Foley will be moving from Tucson to Philadelphia, as Matt will be attending law school at Temple U. Oksana Oleshchuk graduated from Indiana U with a doctorate of occupational therapy in May 2024. Rhetta Eubanks graduated from New York U School of Law, and will begin work in September at the criminal defense practice of the Legal Aid Society of New York. Kaya Lawrence also recently just graduated from NYU Law, and is currently being very brave in studying for the bar. She will be completing a one-year fellowship at Bronx Defenders before clerking for a federal judge in the Southern District of NY. Elaine Griffin has her first novel, Shadows in the Pleasure Gardens, being published in June of 2025. Dessi Gomez has a new job working for Deadline Hollywood. Congrats, all, on some amazing life accomplishments and milestones! As always, for those of you reading along, don’t be shy! 22 Class Secretary

Our class has recently been on the move! After living in Madrid for a year after graduation, Grace Scheidler moved to London full-time, but promises to return for football games! Sue Kim relocated to Washington DC with her Bernedoodle puppy to begin a new job in venture capital. Camila Antelo Iriarte just started a new job as a senior associate at 17a, an economic development consulting firm. Annie Martino moved to Charlotte, NC for her third year of medical school at Wake Forest. Sam Bader was the youngest convention coordinator in the history of the Rhode Island Democratic Delegation to attend the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August. She also organized the Rhode Island Democratic Party’s first appearance in 15 years at the RI Pride Parade. Some of us are going back to school; Lorena Lasso is in her second year of medical school at Washington U and Destiny Herndon finished graduate school less than two years after our ND graduation! She spent time living and working in DC, but is now managing a $5 million project in conjunction with the CDC in her first post grad job in Austin TX. Lots of love in the air for our class as well. Kelly Gaylord recently got engaged. Mackenzie Todd married her college sweetheart, who played tennis at Holy Cross. Alexis Moskala married Quinn Bardwell in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on June 28. Johnson Family Hall Priest in Residence, Fr. Tom Eckert, CSC, presided over the Nuptial Mass. 23 One Year Later

It’s been a year since we graduated and departed from our home under the dome. There are already so many exciting updates to share with you all. Claire Krueger moved to England where she works in engineering as an officer for the US Air Force. Claire has traveled to eight countries since moving abroad. Elizabeth VanKammen completed her first year of law school at U of Virginia, where she was accepted to two journals. Elizabeth is currently completing a judicial internship with the Federal District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and will join Sullivan & Cromwell LLP as a 2025 summer associate in their Palo Alto office. Megan Greive moved to Indianapolis where she works as a high school teacher with the ACE Teaching Fellows. Vicky Kuprewicz started dental school at U of Michigan. Prior to Michigan, Vicky road tripped around Iceland with Allison Fick. Ella Cate Hungeling is pursuing an MS in nonprofit management at Columbia U while also working as alumni programs coordinator at Columbia Engineering. Abby Urban moved to Cincinnati to start a new role as co-host of FOX19’s weekday lifestyle show, Now in the Nati. After a year working for the EPA in Cincinnati, Jonathan Gilman is starting a Master of Environmental Management at Duke U. Abby Helenbrook works as a process engineer for Linde Engineering Americas. Vicky Discua started her second year of a MSc in Biomedical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon U. Vicky’s undergraduate research on a bioprinted heart disease model was published. Jackson Vyletel is a Ph.D Candidate in Chemical Engineering at U of Pennsylvania. At Penn, Jackson is a NSF Graduate Research Fellow and Doyle D. Rauch Research Fellow. On July 27 Jackson married Grace Catherine Denomme in Plymouth MI. Congratulations to Grace and Jackson! Sarajane Smith is pursuing a MA in Applied Anthropology with a focus in Forensic Anthropology at Mississippi State U. Sarajane is co-lead on the forensic recovery team and was selected for the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program in Anthropology. Cam Taylor created a comedy sketch detailing his love life in college and has been performing it “on tour” as he visits classmates around the country. Tour stops thus far include New York City, Los Angeles, North Carolina, Connecticut, Seattle, Cincinnati, South Bend and Indianapolis. Stay tuned for upcoming shows in Chicago and Boston. Cam DeShetler hiked the Appalachian Trail. His journey began on March 10 and lasted 129 days. Congratulations on a great accomplishment Cam! David Hale is a product development engineer at Lear Corporation. On July 3 David proposed to Ella Dolowy at Sweetest Heart of Mary Church in Detroit. Congratulations to Ella and David! Aly Chin is the community outreach coordinator for the ICCAN Equity Platform at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. This concludes our first class notes column. Many more of these to come. Hello Class of 2024! It feels like just yesterday that we were all gathered on campus enjoying our last moments together as students. Now that we are all not within proximity of each other, we unfortunately cannot rely on Sunday brunch debriefs or pre-class chit chats to know what our fellow classmates are up to these days. The Notre Dame Magazine is now your one and only (not really) source for all things post-grad. So don’t be shy, tell us about your life accomplishments, milestones, and everything in between. We hope to have a filled section for the next magazine with everything you all have been up to these days. No update is too boring or pretentious. Brag away!!
