20JD Babies, Business and (foot)Ball
In baby news: Congratulations to Kim (Salmon) and her husband, Christian Yeager, on the birth of their beautiful daughter Darcy Alice on Oct. 5. Kim and I are both biased in hoping her red hair sticks! Lindsay (O’Tousa) and Blake Bars also welcomed their sweet daughter, Ellie Alexandra, into the world on Oct. 31. Lindy (Martinez) and her husband, Jimmy Spierings, welcomed their handsome baby boy James (“Jimmy”) into the world on Jan. 5. In baby and business news: Dawn (Rauch) and her husband, Tyler Ransom, welcomed baby boy Cooper Phillip into the world on Aug. 6. Dawn is also celebrating a new role as assistant United States attorney as of January. In (foot)ball news: I loved seeing some of you at football games this past season and hope you all enjoyed the exhilarating run the Fighting Irish made. I am jealous that Kyle Eads got to witness both of his alma maters in the title game (and get a win), but there is always next year for an Irish title (spoken like a true Cubs fan). 21 Moving Up
Greetings, Irish Nation! I hope everyone is out feeling the first glimpses of warmth grace their skin after months of an icy abyss falling over them. And if you live in a city where you’ve managed to escape the permacloud, good for you. I’m happy for you. Really. Not bitter at all …. Without further ado, the much-anticipated and highly sought-after life updates! Morgan McCabe and Joseph Sheehan got engaged on Oct. 26. Abigail Heinzman and Francis Schickel ’20 recently got engaged as well. Maria Luisa Paul and Jon Reuvers ’20 got married on Dec. 28, four years after meeting at Notre Dame. Oksana Oleshchuk got married to Ben Catton in November. Fellow Alumni Emily Groth, Natalie Armbruster and Josie Wessler were all in the bridal party. Kathryn Purk and Blake Dries got married. Amanda Jarosik self-published her fantasy novel The Dream through Amazon. Elaine Griffin is also publishing her own book, Shadows in the Pleasure Gardens: Regarding Robberies and Racehorses, in June. Ryan Quintal earned his “Wings of Gold” and was officially designated a naval aviator in August, and recently moved out to CA to start flying the F-18 Super Hornet. Javier Rivera Gonzalez moved back home to Puerto Rico to work with Stantec. Abigail Stokes will be starting a research position in Santiago, Chile, on spatial data science and forest fire prediction. Sarah Genz is currently working for the Pulte Institute for Global Development at Notre Dame. She lives in South Bend and has been fortunate enough to visit Algeria and Tanzania in 2024 through her new post. Jill Ruane recently moved to Germany in October to fly the C-130J with the Air Force. Aside from that, she has been reconnecting with friends from ND in Germany during her time as a Fulbright Scholar, and recently joined the handball team there as well. Rhetta Eubanks graduated from NYU Law in May, passed the NY bar exam in July and is now a public defender at the Legal Aid Society of NY in the Bronx. Lena Do will be graduating from the U of Oklahoma College of Medicine and hopes to match in OB/GYN residency. Michelle Moufawad was thrilled to have the pleasure of seeing Tess Marvin “like three times” in 2024. Speaking of, Tess Marvin is considering buying her first Hydroflask, and is in need of recommendations. Please hit her up. Michaela Kocher began studying at “a school just outside of Boston” pursuing her Master of Public Policy. Jess Reeg also won a pumpkin carving contest in October; please send her your congratulations. Finally, Will Richard and Katie Bellaschi launched the Dallas chapter of a national run and social club, We’re Not Really Runners. Congrats, all, on some amazing life accomplishments and milestones! 21MBA A Promotion
David Keller has joined CTB Inc. as associate director of financial and operational analysis. In his new position, David will provide financial analysis and input for strategic business decisions such as potential acquisitions, major capital investments and new projects. Additionally, he will analyze the financial data and operations of the company’s business units with the objective of enhancing their performance and helping achieve financial goals. 22 Cheering on the Irish
Many members of the Class of 2022 came together to support the Fighting Irish at the National Championship this year. The energy and camaraderie were palpable, as classmates rallied to cheer on the team and reconnect with old friends. It was a proud moment for all! In other updates, Chris Hunt shares: “I have a stable job, live in Philadelphia and I’m having a lot of fun here. 23 New Beginnings
Noah Gagnon married his high school sweetheart, Maya Tavares, at Holy Name Church in Fall River MA in October. Noah began working at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport RI with Jake DeMaggio. Caroline Coleman completed her rotational program working as a Vaccines Industrial Affairs associate at Sanofi. Payton Renz started a new role as an on-premise sales consultant at Gallo working in downtown Indianapolis growing High Noon, Fireball and other wine and spirits. 24 Rings by Spring
Unfortunately, not any football championship rings. But these are way better! Mary Blacklock-Votava married her fellow Domer lover, Chessley Blacklock ’23, in a stunningly beautiful ceremony in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. Congratulations to you both! Chris Libero and Allison McPeek ’24SMC are also set to tie the knot on July 19. Chris Mix recently made the move to Pittsburgh to get his master’s in public health at the U of Pittsburgh. Emily Czaplewski and TJ Connors have both started their journeys in getting a Ph.D. in chemical engineering at Purdue U. Matt Kianpour and Angelina Busetto moved to NYC and became work besties at PwC! Anna Nunag ran the Philadelphia marathon in November, and to her dismay is having a harder time recovering from a college football championship loss. Her next endeavor: 10 non-fake pushups in a row.
