02 Happy Spring

Daniella Zsupan-Jerome, her husband Randy, and new big brother Gabriel welcomed baby Lilibeth Therese Jerome in early October. Terence Corcoran recently took four months of paternity leave. His wife Jessi and their three sons visited San Francisco and stayed with Alex and Diana Adamson who live on the same street as Allison and Griffin Howard ’01, and Michael Riley ’02 (allegedly) and his wife Judy Wilson. They all sat around and tried to make jokes like the old days but mostly talked about how crazy the weather has been lately. Melissa (Garcia) ’02, ’05JD and James Goodman welcomed their fourth child, Sean Patrick Goodman, on Dec. 16. His big siblings Luke, Noah and Ellie can’t wait to have him cheering on the Irish alongside them. Thanks for the updates. — Lisa (Sestile) Corcoran; lsestile@alumni.nd.edu

02JD London Calling

Greetings from South Bend where winter has finally arrived. Campus continues to look magical in the snow and if you can visit this time of year, you really ought to do so. Julia Dayton Klein is a partner at Lathrop GPM in Minneapolis MN, where she practices business litigation, intellectual property and regulatory matters, counseling clients on a variety of matters including regulatory compliance, patent infringement, marketing strategies and mergers and acquisitions. James Arrowood is in private practice in Phoenix where he has developed a specialty in the law of emerging technologies, including autonomous vehicles and drones, and has taught the Arizona State Bar CLE program on the subject. James has also become a frequent contributor on local news programs concerning the law and technology. You can find his appearances on YouTube. While on a long layover this past November, I had the opportunity to visit the London Law Program, which is in the capable hands of Michael Addo. Prof. Addo encourages program alumni to visit and, as I can attest, having the opportunity to meet this generation’s London law students is a real pleasure. Speaking of London, this coming fall will mark 20 years from the start of our London experience and, rumor has it, a reunion is in the works. Stay tuned. — Ryan D. Costantini; 414 S. 04 Updates Continue

Mary Kathleen (Lechner) Keeler and Sean Keeler MD celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in Paris and renewed their vows beneath the Eiffel Tower. They report that life is good as they continue to live in Las Vegas. Mary Kathleen has returned to grad school and is earning her master’s degree in psychology from Pepperdine U. Molly ’04SMC and Bill Opal welcomed their second child into the world. William Lowell Opal II was born on Nov. 4, joining big sister, Mary Grace. He cheered on the Irish in the bowl game along with his grandparents, Marcia and Don Opal ’76. Nancy (Miller) and Joe Wyss welcomed their daughter Elizabeth in February 2019. She joined big brothers Michael and Thomas. Joe joined other Stanford Hall alums including Chris Scoletti, Brian Shaughnessy, Mike Trela, Tony Groseta, Dave Thiess and Matt Sarbanis over the summer to go hiking and camping in Yosemite. Athena (Kwey) McPhillips and husband Blaine McPhillips welcomed their first son, Cavan Xavier, on Nov. 7 in Santa Monica. He has already joined his parents for a few ripping Phish shows. Sean MacCready and his wife, Molly, had their first child, Ansel, in April 2019. In January, Ansel was baptized with Julie (Rombaut) O’Connor ’05 and Brendan O’Connor as godparents. This past year, our classmate Krista Seidl and her husband, Rob, found out that their daughter, Willa, 4, has Rett Syndrome. Rett is a genetic disorder that primarily affects girls and women, and has been described as a combination of autism, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s, epilepsy and anxiety disorder. The good news is that Rett Syndrome is uniquely positioned to be the first neurological disorder to be cured because it is linked to a single gene. There’s a tremendous amount of hope. Krista is planning a benefit gala in April to raise money for the Rett Syndrome Research Trust, with 96 percent of funding going directly to research projects. I know a spring vacay in Wisconsin may not be in the cards for many, but anyone can donate by visiting raisinforrett.org/donate. Keep the updates coming. — Carol Martino; carolmartino10@gmail.com
