39 A Surreal World

I received word from the Rev. Bernie McAniff, SJ, that Vincent Dollard’s wife of 72 years passed away in December. Jean Dollard was a devoted and much-loved friend, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a longtime member of Notre Dame Ladies Auxiliary. Vincent, 102, lives in the St. Ann’s Community in Rochester NY. God willing, he will turn 103 this fall. As this column is written, I am reflecting on the 80th reunion celebration a year ago. At the time of publication this summer, 81 years will have passed since graduation.
