20MBA All Tied Up in Knots

Our class was too busy last issue to share any updates, but we have more than made up for it here. With a few professional items, the focus is on recent or upcoming weddings. Charles Rex Pflueger is working as a financial/operational analyst for Pintar Investment Company in San Juan Capistrano CA. Emily Parsons and Tim Speake were married this past October in Edina MN. The following month, Bonny Gammill and Forrest Riddle were married in Austin TX. Notre Dame representation was strong among Forrest’s six groomsmen thanks to Dan McGue and Kyle Devlin. Looking ahead to later this year, Phoebe Tzannes and Dan McGue are engaged and getting married this April in Montana. Marcy Toni and Karl Burns are also engaged, planning to tie the knot this October in Milwaukee WI. Dan Weissenhofer and his fiancée, Natalie Gower, live in Boston and are planning a wedding for April 2023. Dan is still in the Air Force as a software product manager at Kessel Run and Natalie is working as a customer service manager at Google. After their wedding, they’ll be moving to Colorado Springs where Dan will be teaching in the management department at the Air Force Academy. If you are also planning a wedding or have another life event to share, send the news my way. — Audrey Walker; awalke10@alumni.nd.edu

21JD A Great Achievement

Congratulations, first, to everyone who sat for a bar exam this fall; that was an achievement in itself. In other professional accomplishments, Zach Pohlman won first place in one of the nation’s largest student writing contests, the Judge John R. Brown Scholarship Foundation’s 2021 Award for Excellence in Legal Writing. Nereida Lopez was recently featured in a full article in Indiana Lawyer for her work in immigration law and as one of Notre Dame Law’s Shaffer Public Interest Fellows. Emily Mollinedo, our second Shaffer Public Interest Fellow, also received a shoutout for her work with the Illinois Prison Project. Cassidy Flood celebrated another graduation this winter, receiving her Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from Notre Dame. Jeremy Rojo was recently spotlighted online by O’Melveny for his work in their corporate group. NDLS articles featured Daniela Johnson Restrepo as she began her fellowship at the Permanent Court of Arbitration, based at the Peace Palace in the Hague, and Mark Anliker as he started work as a Gideon’s Promise Fellow in Cincinnati through the Law School Partnership Project. And Keith Ongeri authored a note published in JLEPP this fall, titled “A New Prescription: The Case for Enterprise Liability Reform in Light of the Opioid Epidemic.” Cheers also to Allison Lantero and Thomas Plapinger, who tied the knot after graduation. In other news, Brandon Winchel has continued his mixology aspirations in Wisconsin, where Daniel Judge and Allie Howell are hard at work clerking. And our class’s pandemic puppies are as cute as ever; be sure to ask Allison Pope about Walter’s most recent seasonal photos, Jana McCord about Misty’s paddleboarding adventures, and Sofia Skok what shenanigans Luna has been instigating. Continue to let me know what you’re up to and be sure to send updates on friends as well. I’ll be glad to hear from you. — Graham Pilotte; gpilotte@alumni.nd.edu
